Together for health in the most important run of the year. We start on September 10

The 16th Onkobieg will start this Sunday, September 10, 2023 in Warsaw’s Ursynów. The run in Warsaw is accompanied by a virtual run, whose participants will overcome the self-imposed distance in any place of their choice. Another edition of Onkobieg is ahead of us, in which – in accordance with the slogan “Together for health!” – all of Poland will run. Registration for Onkobieg 2023 is now closed, but you can still support the sick by making a donation on the website:

Organized for 16 years by the Sarcoma Onkobieg ociation, it is the largest charity run in Poland for people affected by cancer. Over the 15 editions, the participants of Onkobieg covered almost 200,000 kilometers together and collected over a million zlotys to support the sick and preventive measures. The annual Onkorun allows you to express solidarity with patients undergoing oncological therapy, as well as with their families.

The run along the designated route at the National Institute of Oncology in Ursynów in Warsaw will start on September 10, 2023 at 11:00, and it will be preceded by a warm-up at 10:45, led by footballer Jarosław Bieniuk. Each lap scored by the participants will then be converted into PLN. Everyone will receive a commemorative medal at the finish line. Those who signed up for the virtual version of the run committed themselves to cover the distance specified during registration. They can do it anywhere – including on a stationary treadmill.

The organizers encourage you to share photos and recordings from the run on social media. By marking posts with the hashtag #Onkobieg, everyone runs together. Together for health.

From 9:00 a.m. on the premises of the National Oncology Institute in Warsaw, Miasteczko Onkobiegu, i.e. a space for runners, will be open. In the #FuraZdrowia mobile office, you will be able to perform free preventive examinations: examination of skin lesions with a dermatoscope, blood pressure measurement or blood glucose test. On site, you will also be able to register as a potential bone marrow donor of the DKMS Foundation. Those who are willing will learn how to properly perform breast or self-examination. Volunteers with animations will be waiting for the youngest, as well as a mobile hospital for children and the stand of the Dr Clown Foundation.

Donations from runners and event partners will be used for rehabilitation, medicines, prostheses, travel to reference clinics, as well as educational activities conducted by the Sarcoma ociation.

As in previous years, you will be able to follow the event live during an online broadcast from the studio in Warsaw, where conversations will be held, among others with with health professionals.

The live coverage of Onkobieg can be watched from 9:30 am on the Facebook event page: and also on the YouTube channel of the Sarcoma ociation under the link:

The starter packages received are to remind runners about taking care of their health throughout the year, and that the kilometers covered are real help for oncology patients.
