Tom Pidcock out of Milan vs San Remo
It’s a big blow. Tom Pid**** will not be able to start Milan – San Remo on Saturday (live commentary on our site), a race in which he was one of the favourites. The British rider will not be able to line up at the start of the “Primavera”, the traditional first Monument of the season, announced his Ineos Grenadiers team this Wednesday on Twitter.
“Tom is under continuous surveillance by the team doctors following his crash during the last stage of Tirreno-Adriatico. After exhibiting symptoms of a mild concussion, Tom will now be rested for a prescribed period of time in accordance with established concussion protocols” writes the team.
The British cyclist suffered a crash last Thursday during the 4th stage of Tirreno-Adriatico, then another on Sunday, during the 7th and final stage of the race, which saw Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) win and Primoz Roglic finish first overall. Pid**** got up but he preferred not to take any risk and give up.
