Frenchman Corentin Moutet and Bulgarian Adrian Andreev almost came to blows at the end of their round of 16 challenger tournament in Orleans on Thursday.
While Andreev (247th in the world) had just won 2-6, 7-6 (7/3), 7-6 (7/2), the two players jostled each other when shaking hands and l he referee even got down from his chair to intervene. Then things got back to normal.
Moutet (64th), however, did not want to apologize after the meeting. “I want to make no apologies for what happened late in the gamecommented the 23-year-old Frenchman on his Instagram account. “When a player allows himself to say ‘fuck you’ twice while looking me in the eye, I can’t help but make him understand in my own way that these are not things that are done“.
