INTERVIEW – The king of American thrillers publishes In your footsteps.
The American Harlan Coben has sold more than 70 million books in the space of twenty years. His new thriller, nervous and effective like the previous ones, should not disappoint his many fans.
LE FIGARO. – How did you come up with the idea of In your footsteps, which tells the story of a man imprisoned for the murder of his young son and who discovers that the latter
is maybe alive?
Harlan COBEN. – I wanted to write a story with a little more action and redemption. This means starting with the most terrible situation you can imagine. The first lines of In your footsteps are the following: “I am in my fifth year of detention: sentenced to life for murdering my own child. Be careful, don’t get me wrong, I didn’t do anything like that.” I thought: “Wow! Can I start a book like that?And that’s what I did.
