The violence continued till Wednesday and resulted in suspension of communication services in the city and its neighboring areas, they said.
Health and security officials on both sides said on condition of anonymity that 16 people killed were from both sides and 20 others were injured. The Houthi rebels have not yet given any information about their military activities in the oil-rich Marib. “The sovereignty of our homeland and our legitimate right to our resources are non-negotiable and we will sacrifice everything to protect it,” the Houthi rebels said in a statement released on Wednesday evening. The group attempted to take control of the oil-rich province several times in 2021. For much of that year, the Houthis held the city of Harib.
