Youri Duplessis-Kergomard 3rd, Terence Tchiknavorian 4th in the Ski Cross World Cup


Two French in the final. During the penultimate ski cross stage this Friday in Craigleith (Canada), Youri Duplessis-Kergomard climbed to third place, just ahead of his compatriot Terence Tchiknavorian, who fell in the final. The men’s draw was dominated by Reece Howden ahead of Florian Wilmsmann.
Howden also won the big crystal globe, the general classification of the World Cup. Bastien Midol, the second best Frenchman overall, failed to qualify for the finals.
Fanny Smith wins in the women’s category, Canadian women’s group shot
Among the women, the best Frenchwoman is called Jade Grillet Aubert. The skier finished the stage in 6th place. The other tricolor in the running, Marielle Berger Sabbatel, was eliminated in the quarter-finals.
The women’s draw was totally dominated by the locals: eight Canadians were present in the final draw, out of sixteen participants. It was nevertheless the Swiss Fanny Smith who won in the absence of Sandra Naeslund, the leader of the general classification, with a knee injury. The final stop of the season will still take place in Craigleith on Saturday at 5 p.m.
